Devotional
When we hear the word 'test,' we often cringe. Nobody likes tests, whether in school or in life. But God's perspective on testing is entirely different from our human understanding. His tests aren't designed to trip us up or to discover what's in our hearts - He already knows that. Instead, every test from God has a divine purpose: to reveal more of who He is to us. Think about it like a parent teaching a child to ride a bike. The parent knows the child can do it, but the child needs to discover their own capability through the experience. Similarly, God's tests are opportunities for us to discover His faithfulness, provision, and love in deeper ways.
Bible Verse
Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. - James 1:2-4
Reflection Question
What current challenge in your life might actually be an opportunity to discover more about God's character?
Quote Testing is not for God to discover in us what our faith is. God knows that testing is for us to discover more about who God is in us, what God wants to do with us.
Prayer
Father, help me to see my trials through Your eyes. Give me the wisdom to recognize that these tests are opportunities to know You better and to grow in my faith. Help me embrace these moments with joy, knowing You have a greater purpose. Amen.
