MCC LIFEGROUPS

We believe that God never meant for us to do life alone. We were created to walk with each other, to grow with one another, and to glorify God together.

This is why our Lifegroups are places where people of all stages of life and backgrounds can come together and be real. No judgments are attached. Just imperfect people, trying to love a perfect God.  You and your family don’t have to make the faith journey alone.  We invite you to find out how life is better... together.

WHAT IS A LIFEGROUP?

Lifegroups are all about authentic biblical relationships. They are small groups of individuals/couples that meet regularly to mutually encourage each other in Christ. They are places to take what we know about Jesus and help each other apply that knowledge to our everyday lives. Each of our groups takes on a shape of its own, defined by the personalities and engagement of the group members. We hope that no matter what group you land in, it will be a safe, trusted place for you to find hope in Jesus — no matter where you are in life or on your journey of faith.

Questions & Answers

Here are some answers to common questions.

Our Lifegroup leaders are people who love God and love you. They have prayed and made the decision to be leaders, taken leadership training, and talked with a ministry leader as a lead up to starting a group. They are people that we know, and we even like them!

Lifegroups are made up of people who want to grow in their relationship with Jesus and care for each other. For new groups, most people live near each other and are willing to commit to meeting together.

First, we weren’t created to go through life alone. In the Bible we find consistent encouragement to gather with other followers of Jesus:

  • Proverbs, which is known as one of the wisdom books in the Bible, instructs us to get advice from others and walk through life with wise people so we can sharpen each other.
  • Romans encourages us to rejoice with each other in the good times and weep with each other in the bad times.
  • Paul wrote in Galatians that we should share each other’s burdens.
  • James guides us to confess our sins to each other so we can be healed.
  • Hebrews urges us to not neglect meeting together.
  • Jesus promises us in Matthew that when we gather, He’s there among us.

Second, your Lifegroup will be there to celebrate your happiest moments and support you through your toughest seasons. Joining a Lifegroup positions these friends in your life now so they’re there when life happens.

Finally, you have a calling to speak truth and encouragement into others. God will use your Lifegroup to impact you, but He’ll also use you to impact your Lifegroup!

This might be a sign that God is calling you to start a group! If God has placed a certain passion or calling within you, He might want you to take a step of faith and launch a Lifegroup around it.

And know this: You won’t be doing it alone. We will provide support every step of the way: helping you get your group started, resourcing you with content and curriculum, and making sure you have everything you need to be successful.

Wherever you live and however your life is going right now, we hope you’ll know and embrace this truth: God created you to live in community. Life is better together!
