Devotional

Spiritual growth is best achieved in the context of a supportive relationships. Just as God has given us physical families to learn and grow together, He has also given us spiritual families to support and disciple us. Engaging with a small group or church community can provide the encouragement, accountability, and support needed for spiritual growth. Reflect on the importance of relationships in your own spiritual journey and take steps to connect with others who can support and encourage you. Consider joining a small group or finding a mentor who can help you grow in your faith.

Bible Verse Jesus answered, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.' - John 3:5

Reflection Question  How can you engage with a supportive community to encourage your spiritual growth, and what steps can you take to connect with others in your faith journey?

Acts 2.42-47

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Quote We are encouraging people to get into a small group because we believe the best way that we can disciple people, is in relationship with other people.

Hebrews 10.23-25

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Prayer Lord, thank You for the gift of relationships in my church. Help me to connect with others who can support and encourage me in my spiritual journey. Guide me to a small group where I can grow in my faith and help others do the same. Amen.
